What BookEnu does
BookEnu is bookkeeping software for UK accountants and bookkeeping practices. Clients upload their documents; AI reads receipts, invoices and bank statements, extracts the figures and suggests the categories; the accountant reviews and approves. Each result comes with a confidence score, so the items that need a human look are easy to spot.
It also understands UK bank statements: it parses the layouts, categorises transactions and matches payments to invoices.
Built for UK rules
The reports come out ready for the job:
- trial balance, profit and loss and balance sheet;
- a 9-box VAT return, with standard, cash-accounting and flat-rate VAT schemes;
- CIS deductions for construction clients;
- an SA103 summary for sole traders.
Books are kept Making Tax Digital ready. (Direct filing to HMRC is not part of the product yet.)
A portal clients actually use
Clients get their own portal to upload documents, create invoices as branded PDFs and message the practice in the app - instead of emails with attachments and paper in carrier bags. A searchable document library keeps everything findable later.
